2013 Reading Challenge
Library Oasis
I do this for the money, prestige, and power. Said no librarian ever.
Via someecardsHa!
You know what? I definitely chose librarianship for the power and prestige. There’s a certain power in being the purveyors of information. I will hold the key to knowledge, information, and education for a lot of people. Furthermore, by holding this key, prestige will come with it. I’m already pretty popular in my little slice of campus. By helping both students and faculty find what they couldn’t find alone, I AM both prestigious and powerful. As for the money, well, I expect to make more than I did as a bookstore manager. Will I be rich? I doubt it, but I will do well enough, and I expect to have far better benefits than I did before.
So, I think money, prestige, and power are what you make of it. No one is going to demand that I rule the world, but I will rule my part of the universe
